“The situation in Afghanistan continues to worsen, ISIS terrorist organization that is banned in Russia strengthens there,” Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said at the meeting of secretaries of security councils dedicated to the settlement of Afghanistan problem held in Tehran, APA’s Russian bureau reports.
The main efforts of ISIS fighters aim at gathering their positions in the north of Afghanistan, where more than 2 000 fighters have been collected to prepare the field for the invasion of the Middle East through Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The main purpose of the fighters is to establish a state called “Great Khorasan”, combining Middle East countries and Afghanistan territory”, noted N. Patrushev.
