Ministry: 60-70% of Caspian sea is suitable for tourism

Baku. Aynur Aliyeva - APA-Economics. Tourism sphere is quickly developing in Azerbaijan. Number of tourism companies in 2013 made 246, while it was 50-60 ten years ago. At the same time, number of hotels is 500, while it was 97-100 hotels 10 years ago, said the head of internal tourism development at Ministry of Culture and Tourism Mahir Gahramanov.

Gahramanov noted that over 2 mln foreigners traveled the country in 2013, which most of them were tourists.

Speaking about tourism potential of the country, Gahramanov said the approximately 60-70% of the Caspian Sea is suitable for tourism.
