Baku. Javid Zeynalli – APA. In connection with the upcoming New Year holidays, 70-75 percent – in some places 90 percent – of hotel rooms in tourist destinations in Azerbaijan have already been booked, Minister of Tourism and Culture Abulfas Garayev said on Dec.25.
“This indicates that citizens are going to celebrate the New Year in Azerbaijan rather than abroad,” he added.
According to Garayev, efforts are underway to prevent possible price hike.
“The latest devaluation of manat will of course affect the prices. However, regulation of this effect depends on the domestic market. In case food prices rise in the market, hotel prices too will rise, and vice versa. These are linked,” said Garayev.
