Azerbaijan sees increase in number of tourists

According to information, the ministry has prepared a bill aimed at improving the legislative framework in the tourism sphere.

“The new bill on tourism which includes proposals and recommendations of experts of the Twinning project of the World Tourism Organization and the European Union envisions a number of important institutional, regulatory innovations as well as advanced experiences to manage modern tourism industry in a more efficient way,” the ministry said.

The ministry also said the bill pave the way for further development of Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, a proper use of tourism-related business processes, and an increase in state regulation of tourism activities and support to the tourism industry.

“Defining main development directions in Azerbaijan’s tourism industry for the coming 10 years, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has prepared one more essential document – the Tourism Development Strategy for 2015-2024,” said the statement.
