As part of efforts to increase the contribution of transport infrastructure to tourism development, incentive measures are envisaged to expand the flight geography of aircraft operators, increase flight frequencies to existing destinations, make airfares more affordable, and ensure the efficient use of the potential of regional airports, APA-Economics reports.
This is reflected in the Action Plan of the “State Program for the Development of Tourism in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030,” approved by an Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated August 20, 2026.
According to the Action Plan, it is envisaged to expand the scope of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s direct air transport links with foreign countries and increase flight frequency (intensity).
