Azerbaijani journalists have visited the Imam Bukhari Memorial Complex, located in the Payariq district of the Samarkand region, as part of a media tour to Uzbekistan, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Uzbekistan reports.

Media representatives familiarized themselves with the complex reflecting the life and rich scientific legacy of Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, one of the greatest scholars of the Islamic world and a renowned hadith scholar.

The journalists were provided with detailed information about Imam Bukhari’s important role in the development of Islamic scholarship, particularly hadith studies, his scholarly activities, the hadiths he collected and systematized, as well as his works.

Media representatives were informed that the modern memorial complex was reconstructed at the initiative of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the aim of more extensively studying and promoting Imam Bukhari’s rich scientific and spiritual legacy. The complex serves not only as a pilgrimage site, but also as a center for science, enlightenment, religious education and the preservation of cultural heritage.

At the initiative of the head of state, modern infrastructure has been created at the complex to accommodate pilgrims, scholars, researchers and foreign guests.

The complex includes the mausoleum of Imam al-Bukhari, a mosque, a museum and other religious and cultural facilities. The modern museum displays various materials related to the scholar’s life, academic activities and works. The architectural design of the complex combines the traditions of Islamic culture with modern elements.
