Trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan increased by 12.5% year-on-year in January-July of this year, reaching $824.7 million, APA's local bureau reports, citing a report by the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan, with a 5.3% share, was Georgia's fifth-largest trading partner after Türkiye, Russia, China and the United States.
Georgia exported $408.6 million worth of products to Azerbaijan, which is 2% more than in the same period last year. With an 8.7% share of Georgia's exports, Azerbaijan ranked fourth among the neighboring country's main export partners after Kyrgyzstan, China and Russia.
The value of products imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan increased by 24.8% year-on-year to $416.1 million. With a 3.8% share, Azerbaijan ranked sixth among Georgia's main import partners after Türkiye, Russia, China, the United States and Germany.
In January-July, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $15.5 billion, of which $4.67 billion accounted for exports and $10.84 billion for imports.
