Fire department opens in Nardaran

Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Lieutenant General Etibar Mirzayev and the head of the Sabunchi District Executive Authority Adil Valiyev attended the opening ceremony.

The department which occupies 900 square meters consists of 30 personnel. The department’s administrative building is equipped with modern facilities corresponding to a high standard and all necessary conditions have been created for the activities of the personnel.

At the department, a fire station, a checkpoint, a boiling house, a pumping station, a reservoir, and a car wash were built. In the administrative building, a dispatcher, rooms for training, recruitment and rest, and a dining room are also available. The department is also equipped with two up-to-date modern fire-fighting vehicles.

Etibar Mirzayev said 60 percent of the unit employees will in the future be comprised of Nardaran residents and that applications from youth are already being received.

Mirzayev noted that youth in Nardaran will also be employed at the State Fire Protection Service’s units in Baku’s other districts, adding that during past incidents in Nardaran, firefighters from other districts of Baku had been sent to Nardaran and that had caused times loss.

“The opening of this department will help us better ensure security and carry out firefighting actions more operatively,” he said.
