Baku American Center opens after major overhaul

Baku. Anakhnaum Idoyatova – APA. The U.S. embassy in Azerbaijan along with Azerbaijan University of Languages has held an event on the opening of the American Center in Baku after major overhaul.

Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, MP Samad Seyidov, who delivered a keynote speech at the event, said Azerbaijan can be an example for countries in this region or another with its position, policy, and approach: “This example is of great importance. Azerbaijan is a country that has strategic cooperation with the United States”.

Seyidov noted the Azerbaijani administration has provided huge support in the opening of the center.

“The Azerbaijani government’s support for the center strengthens Azerbaijan-US relations. We have established one of the most contemporary and foremost centers”, he said.

U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission to Azerbaijan Dereck Hogan said in his speech that the center is one of the key components of the US-Azerbaijan strategic cooperation.

“The more comprehensively and thoroughly citizens of our countries learn each other’s cultures, the better they will understand each other”.

Other speakers also welcomed the opening of the center during their speech at the event.
