Azerbaijan assigns corporate governance rules in state-owned companies to Finance Ministry

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Finance will take the necessary measures to implement corporate governance rules and standards in joint-stock companies in which the state holds a controlling stake, APA-Economics reports.

Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decision amending Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 257 dated June 4, 2019.

The amendment does not apply to joint-stock companies managed by AZCON and Azerbaijan Investment Holding.

The decision was adopted to ensure the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 570 dated December 29, 2025, which approved rules on budget drafts and forecasts of state-owned enterprises, monitoring the execution of revenue and expenditure estimates, as well as net profit distribution and dividend policies.
