According to the statistics based on the protocols of examiners, there are 24 and 76 such pupils among the 11th and 9th graders accordingly, the SSAC said.
Given the fact that such cases are not noted down in most examiners’ protocols, the above-mentioned facts can be regarded as a bad situation, the SSAC added.
“It is unclear how those pupils with such poor knowledge and skills reached the 9th, even the 11th grade. The number of 11th graders who can neither read nor write is 6 in Sabirabad, 4 in Lankaran, 3 in Hajigabul, 2 in Tovuz, and 1 in each of Dashkesen, Gedebey, Gazakh, Goranboy, Imishli, Astara, Lerik, Yardimli and Masalli districts.
The number of 9th grade pupils who can neither read nor write is as following: 12 pupils in Astara district, 9 in Sabirabad, 8 in Lerik, 4 pupils in each of Gedebey, Tovuz, Jalilabad and Masalli districts, 3 pupils in each of Gazakh, Goranboy and Berde districts, 2 in each of Dashkesen, Shemkir, Aghstafa, Aghjabedi, Aghdash, Yardimli and Hajigabul districts, 1 in each of Gakh, Kelbejer, Gabala, Ordubad, Khizi, Aghdam, Khachmaz and Jabrayil districts”, said the SSAC.
