“All health professionals must first believe that global warming is happening. In other words, the weather is warming, we have done it and we can solve it,” said Hande Harmancı, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative and Head of Country Office in Azerbaijan during the panel discussion at the "Forecasting Healthy Futures" Global Summit held in Baku, APA reports.
According to her, healthcare professionals are not yet sufficiently involved in climate change work, in the overall process:
“A lot of research has been done in this direction. However, as a healthcare professional myself, I believe that we are not sufficiently involved in the work being done on climate change and global warming.”
"Climate change has a negative impact on human health. Global warming is becoming more widespread," she said.
