New IDP district to be opened in Garadag region

The opening of the newly-built district for internally displaced persons from Lachin in will be held Umid village of Garadag region on June 19, Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Baku Office told the APA.
The keys of 52 apartments will be presented to IDP families in the ceremony. According to the three-sided agreement concluded between Garadagh Executive Power and “Mishni†community, NRC started the construction of new apartments in Umid settlement since 2005. Every apartment has been supplied with kitchen, water system, other public utilities and yard. The construction of 52 apartments has been finished and the construction of additional apartments continues at present. Garadag Executive Power allotted area for the settlement. Norwegian Foreign Ministry and Norwegian “Statoil Absheron†Oil Company financed the draft, Azerbaijani government and Statoil Absheron financed the construction of electricity, water and sewerage system.
The regional director of NRC international humanitarian organization Margaret Vikki will deliver the opening speech at the event. Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister, the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, the chairman of Republic Committee on International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov, Norwegian extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Azerbaijan Yon Ramberg, Garabag EP chief Huseyn Israfilov and others will attend the ceremony. /APA/
