Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister receives UN Secretary Generalâ€™s Representative on Human Rights of IDPS

Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev has today received the delegation headed by Walter Kalin, Representative of the Secretary-General on the human rights of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The ministry told the APA-Economics that Azerbaijani minister has informed the UNO representative about occupied 20% of Azerbaijani territories, stressing over a million of Azeris have been displaced from their motherland, and noted that Armenian aggression damaged Azerbaijani economy. He said the state increases care about the refugees and IDPS.
Mr. Babayev informed the guests about taken measures for solution of the problems of the refugees and IDPs. Thus, IDP camps will be destroyed till the end of this year and they will be moved to new settlements. He noted that the state loans credits for them and leases out agricultural vehicles. One of the planned measures is to construct workshops near the settlements. Some measures have considered for bettering social-economic conditions of the refugees in the frame of state program for reduction of poverty and sustainable development which will cover 10 years.
In his turn, Mr. Kalin mentioned about his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and expressed his satisfaction with the taken measures. The quest considered it important to take into account the previsions jobs of the refugees while providing them with new jobs. The UN representative noted the UN will continue to take measures in this sphere. /APA-Economics/
