Representatives of the Azerbaijani Alban-Udi Christian Religious Community visited the Aghoghlan Monastery located in the Lachin district, APA’s local correspondent reports.
Members of the religious community lit candles, offered prayers and commemorated the martyrs on the monastery grounds.
Rafiq Danakari, Deputy Chairman of the Alban-Udi Religious Community, said that since 2020, members of the community have regularly visited religious monuments located in the liberated territories.
He noted that members of the community first visited the Aghoghlan Monastery in February 2021.
“At that time, we also prayed that there would never again be war on Azerbaijani lands and that peace and tranquility would always prevail in these places,” he said.
The deputy chairman emphasized that the Azerbaijani people are distinguished by their peacefulness, multiculturalism, tolerance and hospitality.
“We have no claim to anyone else’s land, and we want no one to have claims to our lands either. Azerbaijani lands are also sacred lands. The monasteries, churches and mosques located here are the heritage and culture of the Azerbaijani people,” he said.
