Representatives of Azerbaijan’s Albanian-Udi Christian religious community visited the Khudavang Monastery Complex located in Kalbajar district, APA’s local correspondent reports.
During the visit, members of the religious community lit candles, offered prayers, and commemorated the martyrs on the complex grounds.
Community representative Rafig Rami said that since 2020, members of the community have visited religious monuments located in the liberated territories every year.
He noted that, in addition to Khudavang, they have organized visits to other monasteries and churches in the liberated territories, as well as the Aghdam Juma Mosque.
Rami said that during this visit to Khudavang, religious rites were performed in the Udi language, namely the ancient Caucasian Albanian language.
Romen Callati, a member of the religious community, said that they have been visiting monasteries and churches in the liberated territories since 2020. According to him, during each visit, they commemorate the martyrs, light candles and offer prayers.
Callati emphasized that the heritage of Caucasian Albania belongs not only to the Udi community but to Azerbaijan as a whole.
