There is a great need for intercultural and intercivilizational dialogue, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said at a special session on "The Language of Peace and Combating Disinformation" held within the framework of the "Baku Culture and Media Dialogue Platform," APA reports.
The Presidential Assistant stated that, in addition, it is important to conduct dialogue not only between civilizations but also within civilizations:
"In this regard, it is of great importance that the Council, which brings together representatives from different countries and regions of the world, operates as an international discussion platform. This body operates with the support of a number of international organizations, including the OIC and other institutions. One of the advantages of the organization is that it operates in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is a country located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, where different cultures and civilizations intersect. We have been cooperating with European institutions for a long time. At the same time, we are part of the Islamic world and Islamic civilization, and we are proud of this."
Alongside European and Western institutions, Azerbaijan also provides a platform for dialogue with organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Our country brings together various international organizations and institutions, creating conditions for the development of cooperation between them.
