More than 500 foreign representatives from over 100 countries are expected to participate in the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, Deputy Minister of Culture Farid Jafarov told APA regarding the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
He stated that the number of participants in the Forum and the interest of representatives from various fields are increasing year by year.
"We see that interest in participation is growing year by year. At the same time, we observe a further increase in the willingness of representatives from various segments to participate," Jafarov noted.
The Deputy Minister stated that this year's theme of the Forum is "Building Bridges in a Divided World – For a Shared Future."
According to him, when developing the concept of the Forum, existing discrimination and inequalities against the backdrop of economic and social processes and relations taking place around the world were taken into account.
"The purpose of the Forum is to discuss these topics and their various aspects, identify gaps as a result of the discussions, and put forward proposals," the Deputy Minister said.
Jafarov noted that the Forum is expected to bring together not only representatives of international organizations and governments but also various members of society, including non-governmental organizations, media representatives, young leaders from foreign countries, and religious leaders.
"It is planned that different viewpoints on these issues will be expressed around the discussion table," he stated.
The Deputy Minister said that greater attention has been paid to the content of the Forum this year.
"It is planned to increase the number of scientific discussions, develop projects aimed at young people, and prepare a document reflecting a vision for the future as an outcome of the Forum," Jafarov emphasized.
He also stated that a visit to the liberated territories is planned within the framework of the Forum.
"As in 2024, a visit to the liberated territories is also planned as part of this year's Forum. During this visit, a special event is planned to be held jointly with Karabakh University," the Deputy Minister said.
