On October 26, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with a delegation led by Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
According to the information, the delegation visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs.
During the meeting, the Prosecutor General provided detailed information on the legal reforms implemented in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as measures taken to combat corruption.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and the OIC are one of the priority areas of the country's foreign policy, and Azerbaijan's active participation within the organization and its contributions to strengthening Islamic solidarity were noted.
The Prosecutor General also emphasized the importance of the third high-level meeting of the heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies of OIC member states, scheduled to be held in Baku on October 27–28, stating that the event would contribute to further expanding cooperation and strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and the organization.
The OIC Secretary-General expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the hospitality, warm reception, and organization of the upcoming high-level meeting in Baku. He also emphasized his full support for the initiative of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan to develop cooperation among law enforcement agencies within the organization on a new platform, and expressed confidence that the event would be successfully organized and yield fruitful results.
