Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Surakhany district gas supply unit cut off the gas of Fatmeyi Zehra mosque. The religious community of the mosque told APA that the employees of the office came to the mosque and said the order was given by Surakhany district executive office. When the members of the religious community tried to prevent it, police were called to the site. After the gas was cut off, a police post was established near the mosque. No one is allowed inside. The community leadership has appealed to President again.

The electricity was cut off in the mosque in May this year.

Spokesman for Surakhany district executive office Barkhudar Barkhudarov told APA that the executive office did not give an order to cut off gas supply of the mosque.
“Gas supply unit supplies with gas and cuts off gas supply,” he said.
According to Barkhudarov, the mosque is not functioning, and it is natural that its gas supply has been cut off.

Surakhany gas supply unit did not comment on the case.

Local Economic Court #2, passed a decision basing on the suit of Surakhany district executive office to knock down the mosque and devolve the territory on the executive office. Appeals Court upheld the decision.
