The Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) may discuss the application of Article 25 of the organization's Charter against Armenia if the relevant agenda is approved, CSTO Secretary General Taalaibek Masadykov told journalists at the 4th International Eurasian Security Conference held in Minsk today, APA reports.

According to him, Russia has prepared a draft decision on the application of Article 25 against Armenia.

Masadykov linked this to Armenia's membership fees and its non-participation in the organization's activities over the past three years.

The Secretary General stated that the issue would be discussed if it is included on the agenda of the Collective Security Council meeting scheduled for November 10. The final decision will become known after the meeting of the leaders of the member states.

Note that under Article 25 of the CSTO Charter, if a member state fails to pay its debt to the organization's budget for two years, its voting rights in the organization's bodies may be suspended, and its right to nominate its citizens for quota-based positions may be restricted.
