OIC Secretary General: Christians have less problems with Muslims than they have with Jews

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. A press conference on the results of International Conference â€œInter-Civilizational Dialogue: Insight from Azerbaijanâ€ on 40 years anniversary of the Organization of the Islamic Conference was held in Baku on Wednesday.

According to APA, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Vagif Sadigov said experts from the number of countries, as well as non-OIC members â€“ Korea and Argentine â€“ attended the conference and held interesting discussions.

OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said there was great need in inter-civilizational dialogue in the world today. â€œU.S. and Europe have wrong attitude toward Islam after September 11 terrorist attackâ€. The Secretary General said there were problems between the religions throughout the history and Christians had less problems with Muslims than they had with Jewsâ€.

Ihsanoglu said media had great responsibility in inter-civilizational dialogue: â€œMediaâ€™s main work in the inter-civilizational dialogue is prevention of wrong influences among the populationsâ€.
