“Agreement has been reached with Saudi Arabia that the pilgrimage will be realized through Caucasian Muslims Office. Every year several private companies in Azerbaijan used to take people to Hajj. We state that these private companies will not be able to arrange Hajj pilgrimage this year. The pilgrims registered in the Caucasian Muslims Office will be sent to Hajj. Some actions of these companies, their demands from the embassy of Saudi Arabia are unpleasant,” he said.

Haji Sabir Hasanli added that some media reports on Hajj pilgrimage in Azerbaijan aim to cast shadow on the work of the Caucasian Muslims Office.
“Reduction of the quota and age limit was applied at the request of Saudi Arabia, not at the request of the Office,” he said.

According to him, 2000 places have been allotted for Azerbaijan, 600 applied for pilgrimage by plane and 800 by buses.

The Azerbaijani pilgrims will leave for Hajj in the first ten-day of November.
