Religious community of â€œFatimeyi Zahraâ€ mosque files counter suit against Surakhany district executive power and Baku Mayorâ€™s Office

Religious community of â€œFatimeyi Zahraâ€ mosque filed a counter suit to Baku Local Economic Court #2 against Surakhany district executive power and Baku Mayorâ€™s Office. Member of the religious community Tofig Razizadeh told APA that the suit asks to cancel the order of Baku Mayor on suspending the construction in the land plot allotted for the mosque and prevent the interference of Surakhany district executive power in the construction of the mosque.

The community said all the documents for the construction of the mosque were in order and presented 33 documents to the court. Razizadeh said Baku Mayorâ€™s Office made efforts to suspend the construction of the mosque in 2002. But at that the members of the community appealed to President Heydar Aliyev and the problem was solved.

Surakhany district executive power appealed to court for demolishing â€œFatimeyi Zahraâ€ mosque in Yeni Guneshli settlement and returning the land plot to the executive power.
Hearing on the suit filed by Surakhany district executive power will be held on August 28.
