Caucasian Muslims Office adopts regulations in edited form

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. The Caucasian Muslims Office held the 12th congress, APA reports. Prior to the congress, chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, participants of the congress and guests visited Heydar Aliyevâ€™s grave in the Alley of Honors and Martyrsâ€™ Alley.
Following this, the congress began with participation of 230 people in Teze Pir mosque. Deputy chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Professor Vasim Mammadaliyev declared the agenda of the congress and 3-member mandate commission of the congress was elected.
Chairman of the State Committee for Religious Organizations Hidayat Orujov congratulated the participants. He underlined the existence of religious tolerance in the country and spoke about the role of Islam in Azerbaijan and the activity of the Caucasian Muslims Office. He also touched on the problems in the religious sphere.
â€œSome claim that mosques are knocked down. This is not so. Illegal buildings are knocked down in the country. No one can knock down mosques built in a legal way,â€ he said.
Orujov said the activity of the unregistered religious communities will be stopped.
Following this, Cadi Board of the Caucasian Muslims Office made a report.
In connection with the amendments to the law on â€œReligious faithâ€, the edited variant of the regulations of the Caucasian Muslims Office was discussed and adopted. The members of the Cadi Board and Control-Inspection commission were elected at the 12th congress.
In the end, Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-ul-islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh addressed all the Muslims of the country, called them to demonstrate solidarity.
â€œI call on all Muslims of the country to unite irrespective of their trends. Do not let our enemies separate us,â€ he said.
Sheikh-ul-islam also took a stance on the demolition of the illegal mosques.
â€œMosques are knocked down. We understand that these mosques are knocked down, because they were built illegally. But why are the persons, who gave permission to build those mosques, not exposed? Those persons should be determined and punished,â€ he said.
At the end of the congress the participants appealed to President Ilham Aliyev.
