Georgian Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry sign letter of intent

Georgia’s Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection and Azerbaijan’s Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry signed letter of intent, APA reports. The letter of intent was signed by Georgian Minister David Tkeshelashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart Huseyn Bagirov in Baku.
The document envisages establishing hydrological monitoring system along the Kyur and Ganikh rivers, specially protected reserve on the basis of Candar Lake in Agstafa region, biosphere reserve on border of Balaken region and Lagadekhy in the framework of UNESCO’s Programme on Man and the Biosphere (MAB) and exchange of experience for development of ecotourism in National Parks.
The letter of intent also envisages projects on reintroduction of gazelles from Zagatala and Jeyranchol reserves and identical position in joint conventions on protection of biodiversity. No payment will be made for sending gazelles to Georgia. A working group will be established for this purpose. /APA/
