The first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival for boys will be held in Azerbaijan in 2026, APA reports.
President Ilham Aliyev signed the corresponding Order.
According to the Order, the FIFA Council Bureau decided at its meeting on June 25, 2026, to hold the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan from October 22 to 31, 2026.
"The hosting by Azerbaijan of the first-ever FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival for boys in the history of sport will further strengthen our country's growing reputation in the international sports community, contribute to the development of football, and enrich Azerbaijan's experience in organizing major international sporting events," the Order states.
Under the Order, coordination of preparations and the resolution of all necessary issues related to hosting the first FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan have been entrusted to the Organizing Committee established by the Presidential Order No. 849 of December 15, 2025, in connection with hosting the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan in 2027.
The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to address the issues arising from the Order.
