Azerbaijani delegation participates in IAEA session

The 70th Regular Session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was held in Vienna, the capital of Austria, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.

Azerbaijan was represented at the event, attended by more than 3,000 delegates from 181 member states, by a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Yusif Nabiyev and comprising relevant officials from the respective institutions.

Speaking at the session, Yusif Nabiyev addressed the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the IAEA, cooperation within the framework of a technical mission to ensure nuclear security during large-scale mass events, work carried out to develop legal, regulatory and technical infrastructure, and the application of nuclear and isotope technologies in healthcare, agriculture and environmental protection.

As part of the event, the delegation also held bilateral meetings with representatives of the IAEA's structural divisions and other countries.
