Georgia's trade turnover with Azerbaijan increases

Trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan amounted to $959.6 million in January–August of this year, stated in a preliminary report by the National Statistics Office of Georgia, APA's local bureau reports.

Trade turnover increased by 13.4% year-on-year.

With a share of 5.4% in Georgia's total trade turnover, Azerbaijan became the neighboring country's fifth-largest trading partner after Türkiye, China, Russia, and the United States.

The value of products exported from Georgia to Azerbaijan increased by 5.1% year-on-year to $484.5 million. With a share of 8.9% in Georgia's exports, Azerbaijan ranked fourth among the neighboring country's main export partners after Kyrgyzstan, China, and Russia.

Meanwhile, the value of Georgia's imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $475.1 million, exceeding the figure for the same period last year by 23%. With a share of 3.8%, Azerbaijan ranked sixth among Georgia's main import partners after Türkiye, Russia, the United States, China, and Germany.

During the reporting period, Georgia's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $17.9 billion, up 8.4% year-on-year. The value of exports stood at $5.42 billion, while imports amounted to $12.50 billion.
