Iranian airlines sanctioned by the United States have suspended flights to Georgia starting today, APA's local bureau reports, citing the Georgian service of Radio Liberty.
The airlines operated their last flights to Georgia on September 20, and their activities in Georgia's aviation market will be restricted starting September 21.
Note that on September 8, the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) added 27 Iranian airlines to its sanctions list. Among them are airlines operating flights between Iran and Georgia. Following this US decision, Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency stated that it would fully comply with the sanctions regime.
