"Our glorious Patriotic War: as you may know, every stage and every day of it has been studied, is being studied, and is being researched by many international military schools, including the application of unmanned aerial vehicles. We were among the first to deploy them in combat," President Ilham Aliyev said during his speech at the conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, APA reports.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that it is impossible to imagine modern warfare without UAVs: "In other words, we laid the foundation for that, and a lot is being done in Azerbaijan in this direction. We purchase such products from foreign markets and, at the same time, have begun to produce unmanned aerial vehicles of many types ourselves. We will continue to do so. Of course, a very large field of activity is being created for the scientific community of Azerbaijan here."
