Azerbaijan’s regions offer significant opportunities for tourism development, Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) said during a panel discussion held as part of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, APA reports.
He said that a strong destination brand, trust and international partnerships play an important role in developing tourism destinations.
Sengstschmid noted that the Azerbaijan Tourism Board promotes the country’s tourism opportunities in priority markets through various campaigns, partnership networks and cooperation with the media.
According to him, Azerbaijan’s tourism potential is not limited to Baku.
“Azerbaijan is ready. It is not only about Baku. The regions also have infrastructure, key opportunities and numerous interesting development projects,” he emphasized.
Sengstschmid said that clusters are being developed in Azerbaijan across various tourism segments, including mountain tourism, health and wellness, culture and heritage.
He also highlighted the mountain resorts in Shahdag and said that natural resources, culture and heritage in the liberated territories of Karabakh offer significant opportunities for tourism.
The head of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board also said that the Sea Breeze project is one of Azerbaijan’s integrated resort projects attracting international attention.
