President Ilham Aliyev has commented on the issue of FM radio availability in electric vehicles, APA reports.
Addressing a question from a Georgian journalist on the matter during the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, President Aliyev said:
"To be honest, I did not know that electric vehicles do not have FM radio. Frankly speaking, I mainly listen to the radio when I am in a car. Since I mostly travel by car within the country, I spend quite a lot of time in one. During every trip, I listen to the radio. Most of the time, I listen to music because I receive enough news from other sources. I cannot imagine a car without a radio. I would not go anywhere in such a car. If there is any initiative in this direction that we can join, just let us know. We will fully support it," the head of state said.
It should be noted that the Georgian journalist said broadcasters and regulatory authorities in many European countries are working on legislative and policy initiatives to ensure that FM radio remains available and easily accessible in new electric vehicles. The journalist asked whether the Azerbaijani government could support cooperation between the government, regulators, broadcasters, and the automotive industry to preserve FM radio and ensure its easy accessibility in new vehicles in the public interest and for the timely dissemination of information during emergencies.
