Industrial parks will be supplied with electricity generated from renewable energy sources, President Ilham Aliyev has signed a corresponding decree, APA reports.
1. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall:
1.1. Ensure that the volume of electricity allocated to the managing organization of industrial parks, in accordance with the total demand (including electricity generated under guaranteed tariffs from renewable energy sources), is considered in the country’s energy balance;
1.2. Address other matters arising from this decree.
2. The managing organization of state-established industrial parks shall, in accordance with contracts signed with resident and non-resident entities of those parks, and considering the requirements of Article 19.3 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Electric Power Industry,” ensure the supply of electricity generated from renewable energy sources.
3.“Azerenerji” OJSC and “Azerishiq” OJSC shall, in accordance with item 2 of this decree, ensure that the necessary contracts are concluded to enable the supply of electricity by the managing organization of industrial parks using the transmission and/or distribution network.
