A requirement has been established for the reclamation of land plots where mineral deposits are located in order to restore them to their previous or alternative useful condition, APA reports.
This is reflected in the amendment to the law “On Subsoil,” the implementation of which was approved by a Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev.
Under Article 13-1 (Reclamation of subsoil areas) added to the law, subsoil users must ensure the reclamation of lands in the area where operations are carried out based on a reclamation plan, with the aim of preserving, restoring, and improving soil fertility and other beneficial properties, as well as enhancing the state of the environment.
The procedure for reclamation in areas where subsoil-related activities are carried out will be determined by the body (institution) defined by the relevant executive authority.
