The 4th Shusha Global Media Forum is an important platform for advancing global cooperation in the media sector, D-8 Secretary-General Sohail Mahmood said during the presentation of the D-8 Media Excellence Center's strategy within the framework of the forum, APA's correspondent dispatched to Shusha reports.
The secretary-general thanked the Azerbaijani government for organizing the forum at a high level.
"This forum brings together policymakers, media executives, academics and journalists, providing an important platform for discussing the most pressing issues of our time. I would like to express my gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his hospitality and for supporting the activities of the D-8 Media Excellence Center," the secretary-general said.
He also highly praised the contribution of Presidential Assistant Hikmat Hajiyev to strengthening cooperation within the D-8, stressing that it has provided significant support for expanding the organization's activities in the media sphere.
"We thank Azerbaijan for its active support within the D-8 framework and hope that the D-8 Media Excellence Center will begin operations in the near future," Sohail Mahmood said.
According to him, the center will organize media training, conduct research, collect statistical data, promote the adoption of new technologies, and strengthen the capacity of national media institutions.
"The center will work closely with national media institutions, public broadcasters, think tanks and private media organizations to deliver result-oriented activities," he said.
The secretary-general added that the D-8 Media Excellence Center will make a significant contribution to the development of training, research, innovation and institutional cooperation in the media sector.
