At a time when Azerbaijan and Georgia are exposed to hybrid attacks from abroad, cooperation between the media institutions of both countries is essential, Gia Abashidze, a representative of “POSTV Georgia,” at the Azerbaijan–Georgia Media Forum on “The Role of Media in Building Public Trust and Information Security,” APA reports.
According to Abashidze, the Media Forum will contribute to the formation of cooperation and experience exchange between the media institutions of the two countries.
“Georgia is currently the target of hybrid attacks and fake news. The BBC accuses us of using chemical irritant gas against demonstrators. Although this claim has not been confirmed, it has not gone without consequences. To defend against such hybrid attacks, cooperation and exchange of experience between media institutions, politicians, and experts of both countries are essential,” he said.
