Alptekin Cihangir İşbilir, Press Advisor of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, stressed the importance of cooperation in the media field. He highlighted that the lack of a unified information database among Turkic-speaking states is not appropriate.
In his speech, Tohir Umarov from Uzbekistan underlined the importance of media literacy, noting that it should not be limited solely to combating disinformation.
The panel stressed that the rapid changes occurring in the digital information environment necessitate the establishment of more flexible and trust-based cooperation platforms among OTS countries.
It was noted that the implementation of joint digital projects, effective management of information flows, and strengthening cooperation among media organizations could expand the communication capabilities of member states and contribute to the formation of a unified and dynamic media space in the region.
Within the framework of the Forum, Eldar Rasulov, Media Relations Manager of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company, delivered a presentation titled “Media opportunities within the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).” He emphasized that WUF13, to be held in Baku in 2026, will be one of the largest global platforms for discussing sustainable urban development, modern urban planning, and smart city concepts. He added that extensive opportunities will be provided for media during WUF13, including a Media Center equipped with high-speed internet, fully furnished workstations, and rooms for press conferences and interviews.
