"Research shows that 56% of people primarily get their news from social media. However, serious questions arise as to how accurate this news is. This is one of the main challenges we face," Latifa Akharbach, President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) of the Kingdom of Morocco, said at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, APA's correspondent dispatched to Shusha reports.
Akharbach stated that the main objective is not only to combat disinformation but also to restore public trust.
She noted that every country has its own unique approach and development model in the fields of media and communication.
"This platform provides a valuable opportunity to share our experience. Public discussions on social media platforms are becoming increasingly widespread. In such an environment, the role of fact-checking and professional journalism that serves the public interest becomes even more important," she emphasized.
