Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, met with Syrian Arab Republic's Minister of Information Khaled Fawaz Zaarour and the Minister's Deputy for Digital Media Affairs Mohammad Tafran on July 13 on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, APA reports.

During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Syria in all areas. It was particularly emphasized that the meetings between the leaders of the two countries and the Syrian President's visit to Azerbaijan have played an important role in advancing bilateral ties. The parties also discussed cooperation between the two countries in the fields of information and media.

Hikmat Hajiyev thanked the Syrian Minister of Information for participating in the Shusha Global Media Forum. He said that Azerbaijan will assume the chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation next year and host the organization's Summit. The Presidential Assistant also noted that a meeting of information ministers of the OIC member states will be held in Azerbaijan within this framework and invited the Syrian minister to attend the event.

The sides also touched upon cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria in the fields of culture, humanitarian affairs and education. Azerbaijan's support, within the framework of ISESCO, for the renovation and restoration of schools in Syria was highly appreciated. It was noted that this project is an example of friendship between the two countries.

At the meeting, Azerbaijan's consistent support for Syria's political unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty was also highly appreciated.

On July 13, on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, Hikmat Hajiyev also met with Kanat Iskakov, First Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as Nurlan Bertysov, Chief Expert of the Information Activities Department for Television and Radio Channels of the Information Committee under Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Information.

The meeting emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are of an allied nature. The parties discussed the development of cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States, as well as interaction in the fields of information and media.

During the meeting, Hikmat Hajiyev stressed the importance of strengthening coordination within the Organization of Turkic States on issues related to social media platforms, preparing joint information content and organizing a joint fight against disinformation. The sides also exchanged views on the broadcasting of Azerbaijani television channels in Kazakhstan and Kazakh television channels in Azerbaijan.

Kanat Iskakov and Nurlan Bertysov congratulated Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum. They also highly appreciated President Ilham Aliyev's meeting with media representatives held within the Forum, particularly noting with satisfaction that the Head of State answered numerous questions in a detailed and open manner.

On the same day, on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, Hikmat Hajiyev also met with Kobuljon Akhmedov, Director of the Center for Content Production for Mass Media under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akramjon Fozilov, First Deputy Head of the Communications Department of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Saidjanov, Head of Department of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, and Tokhir Umarov, Head of Department at the Center for Content Production for Mass Media under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.

The meeting emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are of a strategic partnership nature. In this regard, it was noted that the sincere and trust-based relations between the presidents of the two countries play an important role in the development of bilateral ties.

The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the fields of information and media. It was noted that media forums, as well as forums of non-governmental organizations held in both countries, contribute to the further expansion of mutual relations. The implementation of joint grant projects for non-governmental organizations of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was also welcomed.

The meeting discussed the preparation and exchange of joint media content, the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Uzbek media outlets, as well as the establishment of direct contacts between bloggers. The importance of implementing joint projects that would promote the countries' shared history, culture, traditions and spiritual values at the international level was also emphasized.

The Uzbek delegation highly appreciated the significance of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum and congratulated Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the event. The guests particularly welcomed President Ilham Aliyev's direct dialogue with journalists during the Forum and his open responses to numerous questions from media representatives. They also highly praised the important messages delivered by the Head of State regarding the development of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations.
