APA News Agency is one of the sources we trust, Ioane Shaishmelashvili, host of the “Eucrocracy–Former Europe” program from Georgia and a participant of the Azerbaijan–Georgia Media Forum held in Baku, said in his statement to APA.
“There are several media organizations in Azerbaijan whose news we trust, APA is one of them,” the expert emphasized.
Noting that the media plays a major role in shaping relations between the two countries, the expert said that this role should be positive.
“It is very important that there are either laws or some regulations so that everyone knows: if we are no longer talking about the personal interpretation of a journalist or host, but about negative information aimed at escalating the situation within the country or between Georgia and Azerbaijan, there should be certain rules here,” Shaishmelashvili added.
The expert advised journalists to approach their work responsibly, taking into account the strategic relations between the two countries: "Journalists should know that the words they say do not just disappear into thin air. They should be responsible for their words, the plots they prepare, and the content they create in general."
