The two-day forum dedicated to strengthening cooperation among Turkic states in the field of combating disinformation has concluded, APA’s correspondent dispatched to Ankara reports.
The forum, organized by the Communication Directorate of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Türkiye, was attended by officials, media executives, experts, and journalists from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and other Turkic-speaking countries.
Within the framework of the forum, panel discussions were held on the impact of disinformation on national and regional security, the mechanisms for the spread of false information on digital platforms, increasing media literacy, institutional cooperation, and operative information exchange. In the speeches, it was emphasized that disinformation is one of the main elements of hybrid threats in the modern era and that effective counteraction to this threat is possible only through a joint, coordinated, and principled stance.
Participants noted that strengthening solidarity among media organizations of Turkic-speaking countries, forming a common position, and promoting professional journalism play an important role in reducing the impact of disinformation. It was also highlighted that the implementation of joint projects, training programs, and regular dialogue mechanisms will be essential in the future.
At the conclusion of the forum, a common understanding was reached on continuing cooperation in combating disinformation, expanding the exchange of experience in information security, and forming shared approaches.
