Deputy executive director: Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have very serious relations in the media sector

“There are very strong ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the field of media. We have a roadmap that covers the media activities of both countries,” Natig Mammadli, deputy executive director of the Media Development Agency, told journalists at the Second Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum themed “Digital Transformation and Media.”

He noted that, in accordance with this roadmap, various activities have been carried out for several years now. These activities include organizing forums, exchanging journalists and press secretaries, arranging various visits, and holding conferences.

“Today’s forum is the second Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Media Forum held on the territory of Azerbaijan. The first forum took place in Uzbekistan. The main topic of that forum was the unification of the media resources of both countries in the fight against disinformation. Today, that topic will be continued on a professional level within the framework of digital transformation and media issues. Two panel sessions are planned. Experts from both countries, as well as international-level journalists, will take part in the forum. The sessions will include in-depth discussions on key issues faced by journalism in the legal environment and digital space.”
