The “Media Excellence Center” is necessary to unite and strengthen media cooperation among the D-8 countries and ensure the formation of a coordinated voice on regional and global issues, said Rasim Bagirov, Department Director of the Media Development Agency, in his speech at the D-8 Media Forum on “Promoting Dialogue, Cooperation and Regional Solidarity”, APA reports.
According to him, the “Media Excellence Center” will increase the global impact of the D-8, as well as help increase professional capacity, promote responsible and innovative media practices in the region, and prevent disinformation.
“The Center will strengthen coordinated media cooperation among the D-8 member states and convey their collective voice even more strongly, increase cultural exchange and inclusive dialogue, and eliminate the problem of skills development, sharing best practices, and the lack of a single platform for responsible journalism. It will also promote responsible media in the digital era, such as disinformation, new technologies such as artificial intelligence,” Rasim Bagirov said.
