New requirements are being established for information agencies, APA reports.
This is reflected in the proposed amendments to the "Law on Media," which were discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.
An information agency must have agreements on providing (obtaining) information with at least 20 (twenty) media entities, must have journalists accredited in at least 5 (five) foreign countries, and at least 80% of the total daily published mass information during 20 (twenty) days each month must meet the requirements set out in Article 60.5 of this Law.
Note that according to Article 60.5 of the law, the activity of an online media entity’s editorial office is considered continuous if it publishes at least 20 (twenty) pieces of mass information daily for 20 (twenty) days each month.
The draft law was adopted in the first reading following the discussions.
