No official talks have been held in Baku between Russia and Germany regarding the settlement of the Ukraine conflict, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told TASS.

According to him, the Russian side has had no official contacts with Germany on the settlement of the Ukraine issue, and there are none at present.

“There have been and are no official contacts with Germany on issues related to the settlement in Ukraine. Given the extremely aggressive anti-Russian rhetoric and practical steps of Germany’s political leadership, such contacts are hardly possible,” Galuzin said.

At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry official noted that informal meetings have taken place between representatives of various public organizations of the two countries.

“Informal meetings between representatives of various public organizations of Russia and Germany have taken place and continue,” the diplomat stressed.

Note that The Times reported in July that a meeting between Russian and German representatives had taken place in Baku.

According to the newspaper, the Russia-Ukraine war was discussed at the meeting.
