An oil spill has occurred off the coast of Oman from the Caroline Bezengi tanker, which is under UK and European Union sanctions, Arab News reports, citing satellite imagery.
According to the report, the 247-metre-long tanker ran aground in the Arabian Sea southwest of Oman.
The oil spill has also affected a protected natural area in the Arabian Sea.
The Caroline Bezengi tanker departed from one of the ports in the Black Sea in May.
On June 8, the vessel sent a report that an explosion had occurred on board.
