The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said F-16 fighters intercepted two general aviation aircraft over Bedminster, New Jersey, due to suspected violations of flight restrictions in the area. Bedminster hosts Trump National Golf Club, where US President Donald Trump has been attending an event on Sunday afternoon, APA reports.
It remains unclear, however, whether the US leader was present at the golf club during the time of the incident. NORAD clarified that the jets successfully escorted the intruding aircraft from the area, according to a Fox News report.
There has been no additional information about the incident.
