“Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan peoples are united not only by a common history and culture but also by feelings of brotherhood, friendship, and mutual connection,” said Ismat Sattarov, chairman of the Azerbaijan Republic Audiovisual Council, during his speech at the Second Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum on the topic of “Digital Transformation and Media,” APA reports.
According to him, today’s Forum is a clear example of that brotherhood: “These relations are further strengthened thanks to the personal friendship and brotherhood of the leaders of our states. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, have elevated the centuries-old friendship between our peoples to the level of strategic partnership and alliance. As a result of their political will, our countries have gained new opportunities in all fields today, including the media sector. As the Audiovisual Council, we believe that the close cooperation established between the media organizations of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will make a significant contribution to the healthy, objective, and professional development of our information environment. Especially in today’s period—when issues of digital transformation, information security, and media resilience have come to the forefront—it is extremely important for our countries to work together in this field. Joint projects, information exchange, the implementation of new technological trends, and the exchange of experience among our professional journalists will serve our mutual development. I am confident that this Forum will be the next step and a successful platform for further expanding cooperation between the media of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan."
