Chairman of the Media Development Agency Ahmad Ismayilov delivered a speech at a panel titled “Transformation of global public opinion in the digital communication ecosystem” at the STRATCOM summit held in Istanbul, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
According to the information, Ahmad Ismayilov emphasized that challenges such as disinformation and the crisis of trust are increasing in the digital environment, and that strategic communication plays an important role in this area: “In the modern era, public opinion has taken on a global character, and artificial intelligence and social media platforms have become key actors. The decentralized nature of the digital environment turns users into both consumers and producers, which increases the risks of disinformation, deepens the crisis of trust, and brings the issue of information sovereignty to the forefront.”
In his speech, he highlighted key directions such as increasing media literacy, developing national content and digital platforms, enhancing journalistic professionalism, strengthening cooperation between the state, media, and civil society, and expanding digital transformation.
He also noted that international media platforms in which Azerbaijan participates, including the Shusha Global Media Forum and cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States, make an important contribution in this field.
